Membership Information

As per the Politics Society Constitution, any matriculated student of the University of Glasgow is entitled to become a member of the Society, subject to the payment of any membership fee due. The membership fee the academic year 2018-19 is just £4!

In addition, membership of the Society shall be open to non-matriculated students (associate members) who shall in total make up no more than 20% of the Society’s members.

Membership may be gained at any point during the academic year and shall expire at the end of that academic year.

Every matriculated member of the Politics Society is eligible to run for a committee position. Elections take place at the end of Semester 2.

Non-members may be entitled to participate in some Society events. The decision to open events to non-members shall be at the discretion of the Committee.

To gain membership, email us at society [at] and we will direct you to our next meeting or event. We have membership forms available at all our events for anyone looking to join the Society.

The Glasgow University Politics Society is a non-profit organization and all proceeds from membership fees as well as any other income will be spent on the fee-paying members throughout the course of the academic year. The committee does not raise a salary and also pays membership fees.
